ABBIDANO Artist Biography

ABBIDANO is a two-piece pop/rock act based in Ontario, Canada, led by Leo Abbinante (born November 21, 2007) and Nic Sudano (born September 26, 2008). Both artists are proudly Italian specifically Sicilian and their cultural heritage plays a meaningful role in their identity, work ethic, and emotional approach to music. Rooted in classic pop-rock foundations and shaped by modern production, Abbidano’s sound emphasizes melody, structure, and expressive storytelling. Formed through a long-standing creative partnership that began in their youth, Abbidano has evolved into a focused, forward-moving act with a clearly defined sonic fingerprint. The name Abbidano a fusion of Abbinante and Sudano represents the collaboration at the core of the project, built on trust, chemistry, and long-term artistic vision.

Leo Abbinante, the band’s principal songwriter, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and creative director, is currently studying Music Songwriting, Production, and Sound at Seneca College. Entirely self-made and not from a musical family background. Leo always has his own vision and knows exactly what he wants to accomplish. He developed his musicianship through the very few people he continues to look up to and hold close, while also through discipline, experimentation, and persistence. His academic training further strengthens his production-forward mindset and holistic understanding of songwriting, arrangement, performing, and recording.

Nic Sudano contributes a refined melodic sensibility rooted in classic rock tradition. He comes from a deep musical lineage his father, Vito Sudano, is a singer, songwriter, producer, and sound engineer with over 50 years of experience, alongside a family of musicians. Vito is also the owner and operator of Echo Studios, Abbidano’s recording home, where the duo maintains full creative control from concept through final master.

Musical Influences & Sound

Abbidano’s sound draws heavily from the golden eras of rock while remaining firmly modern in execution. Leo Abbinante’s key influences include Bon Jovi, particularly Jon Bon Jovi as a frontman and Richie Sambora melodically and structurally, as well as Jerry Cantrell for his melodic guitar work. Additional influences include Journey, Air Supply, Bryan Adams, The Red Hot Chilie Peppers, The Beatles, Eric Clapton, SRV, Aerosmith, U2, Foreigner, Def Leppard, and The Police. From a drumming perspective, Leo is influenced by Chad Smith, Simon Phillips, and Kristian Balinov.

Nic Sudano’s influences include KISS, Triumph, Pink Floyd, alongside Journey, Bryan Adams, Scorpions, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, U2, and The Police.

Sonically, Abbidano blends ’80s-scale production big sounds, layered guitars, reverbs, delays, and polished mixing with further '80s, including '60s and ’70s songwriting sensibility, and ’90s alternative grit, creating a sound that feels familiar, yet very distinct.
